Quick start on using Intelligence X

Step 1: Sign up at https://intelx.io/signup! Non-registered users only can make a few searches per day and do not see most data. Signed up users can see a lot of data, although to see everything, you must acquire a paid license.

Step 2: Identify what you are interested in. Do research and reconnaissance first.

You need to search for something specific - like a domain name or an email address:

  • The basic idea of “garbage in, garbage out” applies. The more specific your input, the more specific the output. The inverse is true as well, if you search for something generic, the results will be generic.
  • Full-text searches are not supported, e.g. a search for “American Airlines” or “John Doe” will return an error. Instead, you need to search for a selector such as a domain name, email address, an IP address, Bitcoin address, etc.

Tip: If you are a paid user, use our https://phonebook.cz/ service to find email addresses first based on domains.

Step 3: Search!

If there are a lot of search results you should make use if the statistics filter. After you search, a statistics button appears on the left upper side which can break down the results by bucket, data type and date. You can also use the filters in the Advanced menu before searching.

Step 4: Automate via scripting, or alerts

We have an alert feature which sends alerts daily/weekly/monthly via email if there are any new results. We recommend monthly alerts due to backdating of newly indexed search results.
